Why I Will Always Support Small Businesses.

The one where I share my thoughts on something different.

Something I am really passionate about is helping others. Not only is it my job, it's a part of me, it's who I am. I like to help others. I am the sort of girl that loves to support other people. Whenever I come across a blog that I love, whether that be the same 'niche' as my blog, or not, I will support it. I'll comment on it, tell my friends about it and share the post or the whole blog with my followers on my social media platforms.   Whenever I see the word '#ad' or '#spon' I will click on the post, like it, share it, comment on it, whether I am interested in that post or not. As I want to support others, I know how important an ad post or a sponsored image can be. You want it to do well. Really well in fact so that brand/company will want to work with you again.

Another thing I will always support is small business owners. Since becoming a blogger, I've really started to appreciate small business and I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into things. I know how hard it is to be without an income, I didn't work for ten months and it was at the hardest time of my life, so now I am working I try and support them as much as possible. Whether that be physically buying something from them, or promoting them as much as possible over social media.

Emma is someone I will always support, she's honestly like my best friend in the blogging community so obviously she will always have my support. Even though she's a really good friend of mine, I would never take advantage, I always pay her. Always. I've had a few headers from Emma and I've always paid, always. She's done my media kit, I paid her. I did a Giveaway with one of her headers and I still paid her. Her headers are amazing and are actually really affordable when you think about how much time and effort goes into them.

Jemma, another girl who will always have my support. Jemma is so creative, honestly I could watch her IG stories for hours, just watching her paint. Her prints are something I've bought a few of and they are always so good. I've even gone to Jemma for a custom painting as a woman I worked with loved Jemma and her designs and honestly, she did a fantastic job. Jemma actually created my first ever blog header and to this day I still love it.

Dot Creates, the girl to go for, for all things blogger essential. Honestly if you need a blogger journal or some super cute stationary, this is the place to go. On the website, there is actually a bloggers essentials box and it contains everything you need and more to plan your blog posts, it's amazing and it's currently on offer too!

Emma says: Alot of small business's and bloggers who have set up small business's like myself have done so as it is our only source of income. It is important to not undersell yourself but keep everything affordable. Most people advise if you are working by the hour then charge the Hourly Rate of £7-£8 average. I think alot of small business's get overlooked and deserve so much more recognition.

Now, I don't want to make this a negative post, as it should be a positive post about how fantastic small businesses are. However, lately I've spotted a few people offering services for 'free' now they are obviously doing this because they want to, which is fine, if they want to be out a pocket that's fine, but it doesn't sit right with me. Surely, you'd much rather be earning some money, for your time, effort and everything else that comes into it, but I guess gaining a few more followers means more to them than having morals.

Don't forget, I have ALL new social media accounts;

  2. Emmy is incredible isn't she? She is so talented, she has also done my header and is doing my media kit and some other bits and bobs too and I always pay, I wouldn't dream of not doing, my other friend Ashleigh has her own business and makes cards and paper cut items and if she makes me anything I always pay, people doing things for free are not only doing themselves out of money but they are jeopardising the business of others and there will come a time when these people are getting lots of orders and then they will be sorry and want to charge but how can they? it's so silly and doesn't help people like Emmy who works so very hard and is incredibly talented and not to mention her prices are fantastic for the quality and product you get, I loved this post and hope what I wanted to say came across right, I know what I mean ha ha xxxx

  4. I think it's really important to support your friends (both bloggers) businesses financially, even if they insist on mates rates, but giving them something for their time and effort (and usually cost too, people underestimate how much a good computer costs to run photoshop etc).
